The Cryoflex Hot or Cold Compress may be used for both cold and hot therapy to help in reducing post-operative swelling and bruising. The compress may be used for a wide range of cosmetic procedures, including collagen injections, liposuction, and tummy tuck. The compress can be used on any part of the body and can be shaped to any form needed at any temperature over or below 0 degrees F. The immediate application of cold therapy is beneficial for reducing post-operative swelling by constricting the capillary vessels and slowing down the flow of blood and other fluids to the injured or operated area. Patients also benefit from cold therapy's anesthetic effect on the nerves, which helps reduce the sensation of pain and provides a soothing, refreshing, and relaxing feeling to the injured or operated area. Further, cold therapy reduces the risk of hematoma formation. Because cold therapy helps to restore strength, mobility and range of motion more quickly, patients may reduce their hospital stay, heal faster and feel better sooner. Hot therapy is beneficial in reducing post-operative bruising by helping break down bruising discolorations (i.e. black, blue, purple, green, gray, yellow and other discolorations). Hot therapy can also help increase comfort and relaxation for sore, achy skin and muscle tissues that have been operated on.
Besides using the Cold & Hot All Body Parts Compress during recovery from a cosmetic procedure, this product can be highly effective for the treatment of sprains, knee, shoulder, elbow, and hand injuries, bruises, muscle spasms, hernia, insect bites, and simple headaches.
Detailed Description
The Cold & Hot Reusable Body Compress provides hours of relief. With simple freezer storage between uses, this reusable body compress can be applied again and again. The flexible non-cracking PVC thermo plastic membrane conforms gently to the area where the application of cold therapy is needed. The compress's unique non-freezable, non-toxic, food grade gel remains pliable even at temperatures as low as -25 degrees F (-27 degrees C). The scientific, anatomical designs of the compress keep the gel distributed over the treatment area for better cold therapy treatment. Both the non-freezable gel and the FDA-approved material used to make the compress (medical grade PVC crystal) are non-toxic, making the compress safe for all applications. The compress is latex-free.
Instructions For Use It is recommended to use 2 compresses for liposuction, tummy tuck and other upper and lower body procedures that involve large surface areas.
Cold Therapy Place your compress flat in refrigerator of freezer for several hours, (initial cooling of the compress takes approximately one hour). Adjust to comfort by placing a gauze, a thin clean cloth or paper towel between compress and the skin if necessary. For moist cold applications, wet the cloth or gauze, squeeze out excess moisture and place on the affected area. It is recommended to apply the compress for 15-20 minutes (or as directed by your doctor), and then off the affected area for 40-45 minutes (or as directed by your doctor). For better results, return your compress to the refrigerator or freezer after every use. The Cold/Hot pack can be reapplied after being cooled again. When stored in the refrigerator or freezer, do not place any heavy objects on top of your compress.
Hot Therapy Different methods can be used to heat the compress, from boiling water, hot tap water, or microwave. BOILING WATER If you use boiling water, bring water to a boil in a pan. Then, turn stove fire off and take the pan off the stove. Immerse the compress in boiled water for one minute. Make sure that you do not immerse the compress in the pan until the pan itself is removed from the stove. For moist heat, you may place a wet gauze between the compress and the affected area. For dry heat, you may wipe the excess water from the compress with a clean cloth or paper towel and place the compress over the affected area. HOT TAP WATER If you wish to use hot tap water, run hot tap water until it reaches its hottest temperature, and fill a container with hot water. Soak the compress for five minutes and apply over the affected area. MICROWAVE Microwave use for heating is not recommended, as it could damage the compress. If you need to use a microwave, you should not use microwave ovens. If you must use a microwave to heat your compress, you should use extreme caution. The safest way to microwave the compress is by placing it in a microwave-safe container that is filled with water and then bring water to a boil.
Once the compress is hot, you may apply it for 15-20 minutes (or as directed by your doctor), and then off the affected area for 40-45 minutes (or as directed by your doctor). Between hot therapy treatments, store the compress at room temperature. The compress will re-warm in 2-3 minutes.
Compress Care After use, the compress can be cleaned with a mild soap, detergent or alcohol. For better results, return your compress to the refrigerator or freezer after every use. When stored in the refrigerator or freezer, do not place any heavy objects on top of your compress.
