Breast Asymmetry



What is Breast Asymmetry?

 
Breast asymmetry is the correction of a different sized breast. By saying correction you will undergo either a breast augment to make the smaller breast larger or have breast reduction to make the larger breast smaller, to balance.
 

How is this surgery performed?

 
Asymmetry Augmentation is performed when your physician makes an incision in the crease under the breast, in the armpit, areola or the navel. Following that your surgeon will then lift the breast tissue and create a pocket under or above the muscle and insert the implant.
 
Asymmetry Reduction is performed when your surgeon makes an incision on the breast itself, followed by a liposuction like procedure to remove the excess fat-tissue. Your physician will then stitch the incision. The advantage in this procedure is that the stitches are less visible.

This surgery is performed at the hospital as an outpatient procedure.
 

How long does this procedure take?

 
This procedure can take anywhere from two to five hours.
