Botox is a botulinum toxin type A which is derived from bacterium. Bacterium is known as food poison and in much larger doses can be very harmful. For medical usage only the botulinum is highly diluted, purified and sterilized. Botox acts as a paralytic which causes the muscles to contract, and when it is injected directly into the muscle, it blocks the transmission of nerve impulses to the muscles which means if a muscle can’t tighten, a wrinkle can’t be formed.
