What is a Breast Form (Breast Prosthesis)?

A breast form, also known as a breast prosthesis, is an actual artificial breast worn in a bra with a built in cup or attached to the body to help recreate the look of your natural breast(s).  The surface top of the breast form feels soft, natural and smooth. The surface that lies against the skin can vary. It could be firm and smooth, flat, have ridges that are soft, or made of fabric. Breast forms can be worn with different types of clothing, for example while you are sleeping or during an exercise such as running or swimming.
